My Birth Philosophy

I believe that creating, bringing forth, and sustaining life are some of the most sacred callings we have as women. Being invited into that space as a doula is one of my greatest honours, and one which I do not take for granted. I recognise that true support is not a “one size fits all” model, and thus my care for each individual family is personalised to your specific needs.

I believe in the physiological design of birth, and, while I do not deny the importance of modern-day, life-saving medical care, I am particularly passionate about helping my families connect naturally with their bodies’ intricate design for pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. By providing evidence-based information, birth partner support and education, and unwavering labour support, I seek to help families prepare to meet their baby with confidence and eager anticipation.

I believe that the need for support does not end with the birth of the baby, and that the postpartum season can be vulnerable and overwhelming. My goal is to ensure that you don’t have to walk through it alone. Different families need different types of support, and I’m here to offer that, be it a nap, a shower, a listening ear, a home-cooked meal, or anything in between.
